    To answer your first question, the amount of time a cigar will last outside of a humidor depends on the room temperature and humidity of the area it is stored in, and also if it is still in its packaging. If you’re talking about those big Cubans then probably 2-3 days, but smaller American cigars like Backwoods or Swisher only last 1-2 days. The best way to keep a cigar fresh without a humidor is to keep it in its packaging.

    Without being in a humidor most cigars you will get a couple of hours before a true aficionado will notice a difference but really it mattes on the environmental factors.

    One away of keeping them without a humidor is to get a big plastic baggie, and place inside it a well rung out paper towel (use cold water) in a dish and then place the dish inside the plastic baggie. Place the cigars inside the baggie being careful not to touch the paper towel and then zip it shut. This will work very temporary.
